My name is Jenna Hilal- I'm serving as the Principal and President of Enlightened Journey Montessori. I have a degree in Child Development from Cal State Long Beach. I have my Montessori training as well. I have already had experience opening up an infant/toddler center, and experience both in the classroom as a teacher and as an administrator. I have my own children with their own different needs and I have seen the struggle with them. We hope you'll reach out to us and see what we're all about!
Welcome from Enlightened Journey’s Director–
Welcome to Enlightened Journey Montessori! You may be wondering at this point about the Director and Associate Director of the school. We are Montessori trained and credentialed teachers. We are mothers living in our community who have our own children struggling with their own educational journeys. We have seen that no two children are the same, and therefore our education system should not be treating every child as if they are the same, as if they learn the same. We see the differences in our own children, in our friends’ children, in our neighbors children and in the communities children who are all going through their own educational journeys. Some are excelling at a fast pace, maybe they’re bored, not being challenged enough and acting out because of this boredom. Some are struggling with reading, some are struggling with trauma in their home, or bullying. Many children are not getting the attention that they need at school, or are simply not interested in school at all. Others are struggling with learning challenges such as autism, ADHD, or dyslexia, and may need extra help, but not enough extra help to get them services in a typical classroom. We feel as teachers and parents we have seen the community struggle, and the typical school struggle to keep up with these growing demands on the teacher. The Montessori environment is built to handle all of these challenges through individualized learning. We intend to keep the classroom sizes small, the child to teacher ratio low, and the curriculum self-paced. Each child matters to us, and we want to help your child on their educational journeys!

Madhurima Banerjee serves as the Vice Principal and a Director of Enlightened Journey Montessori, bringing a deep passion for Montessori education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing, learning environment. With extensive experience in Montessori education, she is certified at all levels and has dedicated her career to guiding students, educators, and families in embracing Montessori philosophy.
With a strong background in early childhood education, elementary and curriculum development, Madhurima has worked as Montessori guide, trainer and administrator, gaining firsthand experience in creating engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environments. Her leadership ensures that Enlightened Journey Montessori remains a place where children develop independence, curiosity, and a love for lifelong learning.
As the Vice Principal and a Director, Madhurima oversees the strategic vision and daily operations of the school, ensuring that Montessori principles are upheld while fostering a strong and inclusive community. She is dedicated to professional development for educators, parent education, and creating a school culture where children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
